Syed Azmir had dreamed of being a professional football player since he was 8, and achieved that at 18 as a full time player in the Sembawang Rangers Football Club in the S.League (now known as the Singapore Premier League). But he gave all that up for a singing career after he came in second in Suria’s singing competition Anugerah 2005.
He moved to Kuala Lumpur when he was offered a full album contract – only to lose that career too, after his manager Amin Hussen was diagnosed with cancer.
Watch how he bounced back as an assistant coach to the Geylang International Football Club, and as an actor in Channel 5’s KIN. He recently also released his latest single “Lebih Baik Juauh Darimu”.
