The Singapore government has announced a ban on e-scooters from footpaths starting Nov 5, in light of severe accidents and fires caused by these personal mobility devices. Such devices will only be allowed on limited cycling paths and park connector networks.
Food delivery riders affected can get up to S$1,000 in the form of a trade-in grant to switch to e-bikes which may be ridden on roads. Talking Point tests how safe the roads are for e-bike riders.
